A Simple Grammar Lesson
Grammar, one of the most frightening words in English, but it needn't be. A child learns to use words, not what the functions of the words are called. This is how you should try to learn as well and how this grammar lesson will try to teach it.

For a grammar book to be good it should understand how you learn grammar and present the subject in a step by step way.

The Best Intermediate English Grammar Book in my opinion is the "Murphy", or to give it its full name "English Grammar in Use" by Raymond Murphy

The most useful and interesting components of English grammar are broken down and explained in words and pictures.

The book is broken down into two page units.  Each unit has the explanation on one page and some practice on the next. My advice would be to use the book nice and slowly. Don't go through the lessons too fast. It is a far better use of your grammar learning time to learn the rules bit by bit. Do a page of Murphy and then get back to whatever fun English book you are reading. This keeps ypour interest and enrgy high, and English learning doesn't become a chore.

This page is short on purpose. This fits in with our phiolosphy here at Spiralcat. An overview of the Spiralcat site. We believe that learning should be easy and fun, and when it is it works the best.
