This lesson idea is a great follow up to Incy Wincy Spider and gives a way to practice that rhyme again while having fun with other vocabulary. This lesson is a quite challenging counting task and the more advanced kindergarden children had more fun than the others. The great thing about it is that kids just love spiders. They think they are just talking about spiders but this lesson plan uses that hook to teach them lots of other English vocabulary and counting as well.

 

The goal of the lesson in this lesson plan is simply to count the spiders, but the sheet used as the resource material for this lesson is also really good for colouring (which the kids also always go for in a big way, and handing out the pencils can be used to reinforce knowledge of the English vocabulary for the colours.)
