Cut Out Castle
Kindergarten children (children  aged 3-5) have a lot of fun with this idea and they learn a lot of English. It's specially good for Vocabulary.

Materials. One copy of the castle picture for each child, glue sticks, a set of scissors for the teacher and a few copys of the magical creature picture.

First the children get a picture of a castle. Then the teacher holds up the second sheet with the magical creatures. When a child can repeat or remember the English word for a creature the teacher cuts it out for the child, who can then stick it on the castle picture. A healthy element of competition can appear in groups with more than one child as they race to get the most magical creatures on the page. The children can colour the pictures in as they go.

One of the all time favourite lessons I have given to children of this age.
